Nikephoros_Phokas
[spoiler if you have not seen Ultimate Fighting Championship 44 yet and plan to see it on rerun do not read this thread.] Karo Parisyan pulled off a nice armbar judo roll into a kimura to get a submission victory over Dave Strasser. He looked impressive and made his opponent appear inexperienced, at only 21 years old we will be seeing more of him.

fightsport
Karo did an excellent job at UFC 44 ... I was talking to Gokor a couple months ago before my Fresno fight and he mentioned Karo will be fighting in UFC. Karo is the first Armenian to be in the UFC to my knowledge and has the makings from what Ive seen so far to become the next UFC champ at his weight class .... Another Armenian who everyone should watch for is Art Simonyan, he is a Boxer who hails from Glendale, CA who will become, in my eyes, the next Featherweight champion. .... oh, by the way, this is my trainer, Peter Cunninham and I. I have taken a few weeks off to relax and am training for my next fight on November 22, 2003.
Nikephoros_Phokas
I doubt he could beat Matt Hughes or Sean Sherk(he already lost to him). I would love to see him beat Matt Hughes since this guy Hughes has turned alot of fights into boring gay porn style matches where he justs outmuscles them and sits ontop of them using short elbows but with little action. I would like him to beat this gay porn star, but Hughes may be too strong. Maybe if Karo uses his judo skills he can get a takedown and stay on top and win. Judo guys may start to do good in Mixed Martial Arts if Parisyan can keep on winning. Fedor Emelianenko a former Russian judo champ is dominating the Pride Heavyweight divison. Of course judo is not a complete martial art, so these guys cross-train as do most guys in MMA.
Bakersfieldian
I've been hyping Gokor on here for years.Hayastan Jiu Jitsu is the most well rounded fighting system on the planet. I was real happy to see Karo display his techniques where everyone else could see what I have known all along. It looked like just another day at the Hayastan dojo. The only thing that still bothers me are the Gokor haters who refuse to give him his due. He has taught a large number of UFC competitors and champions with no public recognition. Joe Rogan's ignorance was up to par.

Of course judo is not a complete martial art, so these guys cross-train as do most guys in MMA. When Karo lost to Sherk was a very long time ago. Karo took wasn't in MMA for a while but now has returned and more well rounded than ever and more serious in training. Of course I would like to see a rematch since the past doesn't necessarily determine the future. As far as Hughes is concerned, the guy is your basic grounding and pounding wrestler, outmuscles everyone and has incredible strength. Carlos Newton almost came close in that one match, but during the rematch was proven to be no match for Matt Hughes boring ground and pound. I believe that if someone can take Matt off his game, they can beat, but it ain't an easy feat. Maybe a flying knee when he is going for the take down, ala Vitor Belfort against Marvin Eastman, would do the job.
